The Health Level 7 (HL7) interface is an integration engine built specifically for the healthcare industry. It connects legacy systems by using a standard messaging protocol. HL7 refers to a set of international standards for transfer of clinical and administrative data between software applications used by various healthcare providers. These standards focus on the application layer, which is layer 7. Because healthcare providers typically employ several different software systems for different aspects of services, it is important that crucial healthcare data flow seamlessly from program to program. Older systems are often unable to communicate with each other. Our HL7 interface gets around that problem by providing the framework for the exchange, integration, sharing and retrieval of electronic health information. This is an optional solution that MedPro Services offers our clients.

MedPro Services has the technology to allow your office to enter all Patient Demographics, insurance information and charges through our Practice Management Software when utilizing the HL7 interface module or our integrated Scheduling software.

How do HL7 interface engines work?

HL7 interface engines are software which works as a go-between for different systems. They monitor different types of interfaces and communication points and perform actions according to rules defined by the organization
